Ken Anderson Retires from Board;
Jon Reed Elected New KCBA President
TOPEKA- The Kansas Cervid Breeders Association has announced a new leadership team for 2015. The board of director elections were held during the KCBA 2015 Annual Meeting in Topeka on January 24th. Ken Anderson and Andy Petesch's term expired at the meeting. During the business portion of the meeting, Andy Petesch accepted a nomination for re-election. President Ken Anderson told the membership he would like to retire from the board.

Karla Kretschmer, a whitetail deer rancher from Columbus, was nominated to fill the open seat. Both Petesch and Kretschmer were elected to three year terms without opposition.

During the subsequent board meeting, the new board of directors convened to elect officers. Jon Reed was elected president, Andy Petesch vice-president and Travis Lowe secretary/treasurer.  Brad Farmer and Karla Kretschmer are directors-at-large.

Jon Reed takes over as president after serving six terms as the association's secretary/treasurer. Reed raises elk and owns Bar Rocking R Ranch in Osage County. He is also involved with the North American Elk Breeders Association as an assistant hard antler judge. Reed has previously raised whitetail deer.

Ken Anderson retires from the board after serving two consecutive terms as president. Both he and his wife, Deb, has served multiple terms on the board in the association's twenty year history. Ken Anderson still serves as Treasurer of the North American Elk Breeders Association Board of Directors and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Elk Research Council Board of Trustees.

The KCBA thanks Ken Anderson for his service to the board of directors.
